Ork Army painting
ARMY PAINTING!!
The second massive ork army from a repeat client. The client is an absolute legend — the models do the talking — and the finished force has a strong, cohesive personality built around a rag‑tag, battle‑scarred Ork horde.
Overall scheme and narrative
Colour palette and weathering: A gritty, high-contrast approach with bright Ork greens and bold, worn reds balanced by extensive rust, grime and oil streaking. Rusted metal is a key narrative device here: lots of exposed metalwork, patched plates, and scavenged junk look convincingly aged and repaired in the field. This gives the army the lived‑in, cobbled‑together feel that suits Orks perfectly.
Unity through detail: Repeated details — chipped paint edges, fuel stains, and matching basing materials — tie the collection together so that even disparate models read as one mob. Small story beats (scratches, dakka scorch marks, hand‑painted glyphs and trophy bits) help each unit feel like it’s seen recent fighting and survived by sheer Orky stubbornness.
